KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has submitted to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) an application to lower power tariffs by ten paisas.The company’s bid to reduce power tariffs is meant for the month of November, for which Nepra will hold a meeting on December 29 media reported.
KESC said its power production cost was below ten paisas under fuel head as compared to reference tariffs set by Nepra for the month of November. It should be mentioned here that the company’s fuel costs at its power plant were worth Rs382 million; while the fuel cost for producing power from other sources was at Rs266 million. An important point to note here is that KESC sold an overall 1100 million units during November.
