Urges Punjab to announce LB poll schedule
LAHORE: Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has said that loot sale has begun in Punjab, adding that Takht-e-Lahore (Lahore Throne) has now ordered seizure of petrol pumps of Lahore. Addressing the party workers in Lahore, he urged Nawaz Sharif not to do politics in the name of oppressed people.
Voicing opposition against a Punjab government’s plan to seal Lahore’s petrol pumps, he said that the move will deprive poor people of their livelihood.“All petrol pumps were allowed to operate under LDA law and that Nawaz Sharif should also support the petrol pump owners,” he said.
The Federal Law Minister said that his party condemns police highhandedness of students and teachers. “Why doesn’t Nawaz Sharif speak in support of teachers and students?” he questioned.
“There is a need to improve Punjab’s governance.” He asked the Punjab government to announce the schedule for the local body election.
Federal Law Minister said corruption was on the rise in the Punjab and the educational institutions were on the sale in the province.
Babar pointed out that when Nawaz Sharif said that there was corruption in the country he is right because the biggest province has been mismanaged none other than by his younger brother, Shahbaz Sharif.
He was addressing the party workers at Lahore. He was very critical of Sharif brothers’ Raiwind Palace.
He suggested to Nawaz to announce the date for holding of local bodies elections. The minister said his party was not following the policy of reconciliation because we were scared of anyone. -Agencies
