Musharraf grieves over assassination

ABU DHABI: Chief of All Pakistan Muslim League, (APML) Pervez Musharraf while expressing grief over the assassination of Governor Punjab, Salman Taseer has said that this was not only loss of the PPP but the whole country. According to a statement issued from the Abu Dhabi Secretariat, former President Pervez Musharraf was of the view that it is the loss for the whole country. He was a seasoned politician and always worked for betterment of the country, he added.

Musharraf further said that it seemed that the current government has failed to cope with terrorism from the country. He also expressed grief and sorrow with the family of Salman Taseer.

Musharraf’s staff officer goes missing

LAHORE: Former president Pervez Musharraf’s former staff officer (Retd) colonel Manzoor Hussain has been missing for last one day. According to media reports, Colonel (Retd) Manzoor Hussain has recently resigned from DHA. Talking to private TV channel wife of Colonel Manzoor said that a suspicious vehicle was following him for last several days.

She demanded from Army Chief to take notice of the situation and get released her husband.  She said that she had contacted to DHA several times but to no avail. -Online

Musharraf refuses to appear before panel

Benazir Murder Commission

ISLAMABAD: Former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf has refused to appear before any commission set up regarding the murders of Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti. During an interview with a private television channel, Musharraf maintained, “It was not my responsibility to provide security to Benazir Bhutto; who told her to come out of the rooftop of her vehicle”?

He said that President was not supposed to provide security to anyone. “I feel bad when the security agencies are being accused of having a hand in BB’s murder, they did nothing of sort”, Musharraf asserted. “Only people like Jehangir Badar alleged me of the murder”, the former COAS stated.
Replying to a question on Akbar Bugti’s murder, he said that “Frontier Constabulary has been established to defend the country but Akbar Bugti was fighting with it on the mountains. -NNI
