Dr Samar asked to assistance in Rikodiq case
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has summoned member planning commission Dr Samar Mand Mubarak for its assistance in Rekodiq natural resources case. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has remarked “we all are Pakistanis and we should protect our national interests.”
According to media reports a 3-member bench of SC presided over by the CJP resumed the hearing of development of copper, gold mine case. Balochistan Advocate General Salahuddin Mengal told the court that prospecting license of Rekodiq reserves has been awarded to BHP. Committee earned million of dollars by floating shares in the market while not a penny was given to Balochistan out of its 25 per cent share. Counsel for company told 435 million dollars were spent on exploration of natural reserves and nothing had been earned out of it so far.  “We request Dr Samar Mand Mubarak to assist the court in this important matter”, CJP remarked.
